Module 3 - Adhesion, Complete Dentures, and Endodontics

Aims:

This module aims to help recently qualified dentists develop a deeper understanding of adhesion protocols, complete denture provision, and endodontic principles to improve confidence and efficiency in clinical practice.


Objectives:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand different adhesion protocols and their applications.

  • Differentiate between etching and adhesive techniques.

  • Recognise the impact of bonding chemistry on restoration success.

  • Evaluate the role of air abrasion in adhesive dentistry.

  • Assess and manage patient expectations for complete dentures.

  • Understand the significance of occlusion and OVD in denture fabrication.

  • Identify common issues in denture provision and how to prevent them.

  • Select appropriate impression techniques and materials for dentures.

  • Perform access cavity preparation with an understanding of anatomical considerations.

  • Recognise the role of irrigation and bioceramic sealers in endodontic treatment.
