Module 4 - Anterior & Posterior Composites and Indirect Restorations

Aims:

This module aims to provide recently qualified dentists with a structured approach to anterior and posterior composite restorations, indirect restorations, and treatment planning to support clinical decision-making and improve restoration quality.


Objectives:

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Plan and execute anterior composite restorations with a focus on shade selection, morphology, and aesthetics.

  • Recognise common errors in composite restorations and apply techniques to avoid them.

  • Understand the decision-making process when choosing between direct and indirect restorations.

  • Identify key preparation and material considerations for indirect restorations.

  • Learn cementation and temporisation techniques for different materials.

  • Apply a structured approach to posterior composite restorations, including caries removal and cavity design.
